McDonald’s popularly known to its customers as McD or as Macca’s by its Australian Customers is a prevalent American Hamburger and fast food restaurant chain. This fast food restaurant chain was founded back in 1940, and it started off as a barbecue restaurant that was operated Richard and Maurice McDonald. In 1948, this business was reorganized by its founders as a hamburger stand, using production line principles.
The first ever McDonald’s to be opened as a franchise was launched in Phoenix back in 1953 using the arches logo. Later, businessman Ray Kroc joined the duo as a company franchise agent in 1955 and subsequently purchased the chain from the McDonald brothers.
Today McDonald’s is undoubtedly the world’s largest restaurant chain, serving approximately more than 68 million clients daily in more than 113 countries globally in their 36,615 outlets. McDonalds primary meal is the hamburger, cheeseburgers, chicken products, french fries, wraps, breakfast items, fruits and smoothies.
McDonalds is the world’s leading franchise fast food restaurant in the world, and the restaurant is mainly operated either as a franchisee, an affiliate, or the corporation itself. The McDonlads revenues are collected from rent, royalties, and the fees that are paid by the franchisees, as well as sales the company-operated restaurants gain. Approximately 15% of the McDonald’s restaurants are owned and operated by the corporation directly. The remainder is operated through franchise agreements and joint ventures. Its business model is also slightly different from its competitors. The company also currently owns all of its property that is valued close to $16 billion to $18 billion.
